We are delighted to announce the beginning of a new project for STAR.
The Community Academy is designed to give under-privileged and under-confident young adults a platform to grow.
The Directors of the STAR business, as parents ourselves, recognise how important providing direction encouragement and belief are in enabling young people who lack the resources to flourish. It’s why we have set up a Community Academy to focus on the parts of our society which struggle without a guiding hand.
We are excited that Ben Grout, who has already worked with us on a project of his design in East London (East Potential) has elected to lead Community team projects for and with us.
Ben is a graduate of Loughborough University, with experience in the worlds of construction, sales, finance and banking. He is currently working in cash management for HSBC in their London HQ and is a member of the STAR Champion network and member and ambassador for the One Young World network.
Ben’s main strengths lie in his boundless energy, creativity and ability to make a real connection with people at all levels. He brings so many great ideas for developing within the community, added to a resolve to make these ideas sustainably valuable no matter the obstacles.
Ben commented on the STAR Community Academy:
‘I know we can make a difference by reaching out to the schools and Communities in less privileged areas of big cities; we can set up schemes which inspire young adults to dream bigger than their circumstances and mentality have yet allowed. The partnership with STAR enables me to broaden my reach and scope in making positive change happen’.
By all means contact Ben via the STAR Commercial Academy office or on his email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
